The Hog Roast

Dallas' 34th birthday hog roast turned out to be a great event! There were probably around 100 family and friends who attended and there was food for everyone.... BBQ pork, chicken, lamb and fish -- plus sides, a big iron pot of beans cooked over the fire and lots of desserts and drinks! The band played until 11PM which consisted of Dad Doug on bass guitar, Uncle Chuck on drums and Rick Oakley on guitar and vocals. A few others joined in singing, including Mom Elaine, Dad Doug and Jeanie Hodges. A couple favorites were Dad singing"Goin' Up the Country" and Uncle Chuck playing the famous "Wipe Out" drum solo! It was a hot day but the breeze was nice and it cooled down in the evening -- a perfect night for sitting around and enjoying food, music and wishing Dallas a Happy Birthday!

This little piggy went to market... this little piggy stayed home...

Farmer Dallas has been feeding a pig for market -- but Petunia a.k.a. Pork Chop a.k.a. Miss Piggy a.k.a. "Suie" has personality. We all have had a hand in feeding, watering and caring for this pig and have taken a "liking" (but not on our plate) to this pig! Will we really be able to eat her? I don't think so! Even Daisy the dog is getting used to the pig and not barking at her so much. Stayed tuned to see what becomes of our "beloved" pig.... To market, to market to buy a fat pig. Home again, home again, jiggity jig....
